My attraction to Italy began in France when I met a beautiful French/Italian college student in Paris. She introduced me to the Italy of her ancestors in the northern mountains of Italy -- the little village of Sassello.
I have been using special techniques to introduce Impressionist and abstract renderings to my photographs of Italy; some of these effects are digital enhancements and some are camera created. I find
that the colors and textures of Impressionism most accurately represent what I see and feel about Italy.
The subject matter is somewhat diverse as is
the design and composition of the images, but they all seem to fit into a
broad interpretation of an Impressionist style of visual
art.
I find that working with digital equipment gives me the freedom and variety
of image creativity that makes these moods possible.
