THE SEARCH FOR MEANING in art has fascinated and frustrated many artists and puzzled most viewers. It seems that an artist can make a concept easily understood or mysteriously symbolic. I have deliberately skirted the edges of both of these extremes to try to challenge viewers without losing them. Consequently, my photo-art, while "contemporary", is usually straightforward and at the same time slightly obscure in its concept and visual imagery.
